The Italian owners have used their exquisite taste for detail to magnificent effect in designing this sophisticated and stylish property. Most of the indoor and outdoor furniture and flooring, along with the pool and bathrooms, have been designed and finished in highly polished cement – helping to keep it cool in the heat of summer. The colour scheme too, has been kept to cool, calm, minimal whites and light sands, brightened by splashes of ethnic colour (such as rugs and cushions, etc), creating a hip, elegant, but laid-back style. These villas are not merely places to stay, they are where you live the lifestyle.

“When I was young I had a dream: to leave Italy, the land of my birth, and go on adventure. In those days, business opportunities were numerous. It was possible to invest and create something in Greece – where you could also enjoy the excellent weather and beautiful scenery. I did a number of things in this country: I worked, I was productive, I invested, then I returned to Italy where I gained construction and real estate experience. When the crisis hit I sold my businesses and decided that it was time to realise my dream: to live on a Greek island and make the most of the long Summer sun. After a long search, I found my little corner of paradise: Fiscardo – with it’s Venetian-coloured houses, the deep green Cypress trees, and the translucent turquoise sea. However, fishing and pleasure-boating have their limits and it is impossible to live without creating, so I decided to build ‘Il Borgo’.
I poured myself into creating ‘Il Borgo’, and it reflects my personality as well as what I myself look for when choosing a place to stay. It is a place that is natural and serene, yet beautiful and sophisticated: it is the expression of true hospitality and easy living. Here at ‘Il Borgo’, each moment is to be savoured and remembered: the bright, luminescent dawns, a bathe in the sea, searching for starfish, a evening drink on the terrace watching the rocks on neighbouring Ithaka turn to fire as the sun sets, a dinner under the stars… The long, fleeting Summer days, the sun-bright mornings, the dream-like nights, evenings shared in friendship and laughter… Unforgettable moments! La Vita e Bella!”
